Sunset Makeup Transformation

School just started this past week and that means summer is coming to an end. Honestly, I'm ready for fall. (even though it'll stay hot in Texas for a couple more months)

Fall is one of my favorite seasons! I love football, cooler temps, and pumpkin spice EVERYTHING. lol. (no shame here!)

BUT, before we jump into the heart of fall, I created one last summer makeup look that I wanted to share with y'all. This 'sunset' makeup look is one of my favorites and I hope y'all will enjoy it too! (*There is a short video clip at the bottom of this post)

First up I primed my face with my new favorite primer; Supergoop Unseen Sunscreen. Y'all this product is GOLD!

This product is an invisible, weightless, scentless, makeup-gripping, daily SPF 40. It's great for all skin types. The antioxidant-rich formula preps skin for makeup and provides a broad spectrum SPF 40 for protection.

It's also oil-free and the velvety texture glides on the skin and makes your pores look non-existent!

Red algae helps protect against the harmful effects of Blue Light, the light emitted from our phones and computers, while meadowfoam seed oil increases skin hydration for a more even skin texture—with or without makeup.

I can't say enough good things about this product. It's definitely a MUST have for everyday!

After I primed my face, I used the "NYX Professional Makeup Color Correcting Concealer" on some of my blemishes. I used the green color corrector which corrects any redness on the skin. I used a small concealer brush to pat the color on to the blemishes. The salmon color corrects dark circles under eyes for people with fair skin. The top yellow color corrects dark circles for people with tan/dark skin. The purple corrects yellow undertones and the bottom two colors are normal concealer and contouring shades.

Next up is my foundation combo. I normally mix foundations for color and texture purposes. During the summer I'm a little darker from being out in the sun so I need to have a darker foundation shade. I know I could just buy a darker color in the same foundation, but I like the texture the two make when combined.

I mix the Maybelline Superstay full coverage foundation in the color 'classic ivory, with the Loreal Paris True Match Lumi foundation in the color 'buff beige.'

This foundation is definitely 'full coverage' so you might not enjoy it if you like something a little lighter in texture. I honesty feel like it gives an airbrush finish!

What I love about this foundation is the formula. It's 40% pure water for all day hydration. Antioxidants, and Vitamins C & E for improved clarity and skin tone. This product is great on it's own and is great for all skin types!

Next I reached for my 'Tarte Shape Tape concealer' in the color 'light'. I love this concealer because it covers well and the creamy formula blends out effortlessly. This concealer comes in 30 shades and is ranked as America's #1 concealer!

The Hourglass mineral veil powder was gifted to me by Influenster a few months back and all I have to say is WOW!! This powder definitely made a first impression.

This finely-milled, weightless powder is formulated with soft-focus light-reflecting particles to instantly blur imperfections and minimize the appearance of pores, fine lines and wrinkles for effortlessly smooth skin.

I deal with dry skin and I'm always looking for something that will not enhance the dryness and the fine lines.

This.Powder.Is.It.

I've tried a few other setting powders in the past and this one has blown all of them out of the water! It's a little pricey...(retails at $46) but I will actually purchase this product whenever I run out. (It's that good y'all!)

It glides over the skin so beautifully and doesn't give a white cast. It seems to just melt into your skin instead of sitting on top of it. It holds the makeup in place for hours and doesn't look cakey at all. I highly recommend this one!

For contouring I reached for my Kat Von D Shade + Light Contour Palette. I love this palette for contouring and highlighting. I normally use this palette on my clients.

My favorite blush of summer 2018 has been this one by Milani Cosmetics. I love that it's 4 colors in one and it gives a nice rosy pink color to the cheekbones. This is the "color harmony blush palette" in the color 'pink play.'

For brows I reached for my Anastasia Beverly Hills dip brow pomade. I use the shade medium brown and I also use their #12 duo brow brush to apply the product. A little product goes a long way!

For the 'sunset' eyeshadow colors I used the "Jaclyn Hill Eyeshadow Palette" by Morphe. The first shade (transition shade) that I reached for is called "M.F.E.O." and I used this shade mostly in the crease, but then I took it all over the eyelid. (using a fluffy crease eyeshadow brus) Next, I used the shade "Hunts" (with the same fluffy eyeshadow brush) just in the crease up close to the brow bone. Last, I used the shade "Creamsicle" for the inner eye lid.

For eyeliner I used the 'Maybelline Curvitude Eyeliner." The curve felt tip applicator makes it easier to apply and the formula is long lasting.

I feel like this 'Better than Sex' mascara by Too Faced will forever be a favorite. I mean just look at that brush! The formula and the brush really make your lashes pop.

A glam makeup look isn't complete without lashes in my opinion. ;-) This is totally optional. I of course reached for my favorite false lashes...The 'Ardell Wispies.'

Of course most of us want to look glowy and youthful so a highlighter comes in at this point. I used the "Strobe-light" highlighter by Milani Cosmetics in the color 'afterglow-01'.

So I have to say I've tried many lip products, and I'm really loving the "Healthy Lip Velvet Liquid Lipstick" by Physician's Formula lately. The formula is so creamy and non drying. It actually contains some great ingredients listed below to help your lips stay hydrated and the color will last all day. With a pointed applicator you're able to apply the lip color with ease. I hope they come out with more colors because this product is awesome. Highly recommend! I'm wearing the color "Dose of Rose."

Key Ingredients:

Avocado Oil, Vitamins A & E, Hyaluronic Acid, Anti-Aging Peptides
