2018 Drugstore Beauty Haul

Hello my beautiful readers! Welcome back to my blog. I know it's a been while since I last posted, so I just wanted to say thank you for following along, and I hope your 2018 is off to a wonderful start!

Today I want to talk about some *new* beauty products that have recently hit the market. All of these products are from the drugstore, but if you don't have easy access to the drugstore, I've included shopping links below.

(*Please note that product links contain affiliate links which help support this blog.* - Thank you!)

Milani Cosmetics just came out with some new blushes and highlighters that I had to get my hands on! These powders are beautiful, soft, and pigmented. I'm a sucker for a soft buttery makeup product, and these definitely fit that description. They literally feel like velvet when you swipe them!

Pictured above and below is the 'Color Harmony Blush Palette' in the color 'Pink Play' and the 'Strobe-light Instant Glow Highlighting Powder' in the color 'Afterglow-01.'

This blush contains 4 colors so you can choose to use one color or swirl together to create a custom color.

It's hard to tell in the picture above, but those are swatches without any primer or prep spray. The blush is build-able and a small amount of product goes a long way for both of these! The highlighter and blush both retail for $13.77.

Physicians Formula has really stepped up their game over the last few years. They launched a variety of new products in 2018, and I'm hoping to try some of the other items soon. This product I'm featuring by them is the 'Refreshmint Cucumber and Bamboo Eye Depuffer.'

This product is .045oz and retails at $9.95.

What is it?

A cooling. hydrating, and fast-absorbing treatment stick for an instant pick-me-up!

Why it's good for you?

A skin-nourishing blend of green ingredients

Key Ingredients

cooling peppermint, hydrating bamboo, soothing cucumber,

This product is also:

*hypoallergenic

*fragrance-free

*paraben-free

*gluten free

*Dermatologist approved

*clinically tested

*oil-free

*cruelty-free

So far I'm enjoying this product. I wouldn't say that I absolutely love it though. I do think it helps my under eyes feel less puffy in the morning, but nothing super noticeable to make me want to purchase it again. Honestly I would recommend a really good quality eye cream that will help with dark circles and puffiness.

How to use: twist up the product/stick and rub it under your eyes. Easy peasy!

So the Maybelline ' Superstay Full Coverage' Foundation actually re-launched in December 2017 but I wanted to feature it in this post since it's relatively new. This is a 1.0 fl oz bottle and it retails from $9.99 - $11.99.

What it is?

It's a full coverage foundation that lasts up to 24-hours. (I wouldn't recommend wearing it 24 hours, but you do you. lol)

Benefits

*Oil free

*Won't clog pores

*Dermatologist tested

How to use it

I recommend blending this on to your face with a beauty blender or makeup sponge, but if you like using a foundation brush, by all means go that route.

Overall I really like this foundation! I was a fan of the Maybelline 'Fit Me' foundation, and this one didn't disappoint either. If you like a full coverage foundation, you will love this foundation. It seriously looks airbrushed on the skin! First off, I love how this bottle comes with a pump. I feel like you have more control of the amount you use when there's a pump involved. This foundation lasts all day without looking oily or shiny. I have dry skin and I felt this worked fine with my skin texture.

The only *con I would have to say about this foundation is that it oxidizes. :( I make sure to blend it down my neckline so everything is blended and one color, but that's the only thing I didn't like about it. I might try a lighter shade to see if that works better.

If you have oily skin, I suggest setting the heck out of this foundation with a setting powder! I've heard it starts to break up and move around on those with oily skin. I also suggest setting it with a setting spray once you've compeleted your makeup. ( No matter your skin type, I suggest setting with powder and spray if you want your makeup to last ALL day.)

My Favorite setting powder - Laura Mercier

My Favorite setting sprays - Mac Fix + and Urban Decay All Nighter

My Drugstore haul wouldn't be complete without mascara! This mascara by Loreal immediately caught my eye. This is the Loreal 'Voluminous XFiber' Mascara. This mascara contains a primer on one end and the mascara fibers on the other end. It claims to give your lashes extreme volume and length. This product is .44oz and retails at $9.99.

So you'll want to take the first end (numbered 1 above) which is the primer and coat all of your lashes.

Then immediately coat your lashes again with the second end (2) which is the mascara and fibers end.

So far I'm pretty impressed with this mascara. I definitely think it does what it claims. (adds length and volume) I love that it coats every lash and doesn't clump up or transfer to the eyelids/under eyes. I definitely think the primer side helps the mascara glide on better and the lashes to look fuller.

The last product i'm featuring is the NYX Cosmetics 'Shimmer Down Pigment' in the color 'walnut.'

This is such a pretty bronzy color that goes with all skin tones and eye colors. I hope to create a makeup look very soon with this pigment. I would suggest using an eyeshadow primer before applying this to your eyelids. Concealer would work too, but I think an actual primer might help it to stick better and last longer.

Highly recommend NYX Cosmetics pigments! They are a great dupe compared to the pigments by MAC.

Thank you for stopping by! Comment below if you've tried any of these new drugstore beauty products. Have a great weekend!
