Last Sunday, Garett and I had the opportunity to try out Mo's Irish Pub in San Antonio, TX for the first time. Let me just start off by saying that they didn't disappoint! Keep scrolling to hear my thoughts on the location, atmosphere, menu, and food & drinks!
(*This post was sponsored but all thoughts and opinions are my own.)
THE LOCATION:
Mo's Irish Pub is located at the Quarry in San Antonio, TX. If you remember where the old Joe's Crab Shack was, then you'll be familiar with the location of Mo's. They're located on the corner next to Bed Bath & Beyond + J. Alexander's. (location found here)
This part of the Quarry brings back so many memories for me. Growing up south of San Antonio, my friends and I would always venture to the Quarry to grab some dinner and a watch a movie at the theater.
THE ATMOSPHERE:
When you first walk in you'll notice the bar area to the right. If you're a fan of sports, you'll definitely enjoy this place! Filled with numerous TV's, you'll be able to view almost any game live.
The restaurant feels very open in my opinion. The bar area is to the right with high top tables and chairs. The left side of the restaurant contains booths and regular square tables which can seat 4+ more people.
We decided to sit in the bar area at a high top table. I loved checking out all of the signs and decor inside.
As you can see the left side of the restaurant contains booths and other smaller tables. This area also contained T.V.'s and cool wall decor. Whatever your sitting fancy is, you'll be accommodated. :-)
One area I forgot to get pictures of was the outdoor patio. (I had a video that day on my instagram stories - which you can follow me on instagram here.) The outdoor patio is setup in a "L" shape outside to the right of the restaurant. I believe this is where they host live bands.
THE MENU:
Their menu had so many options to choose from. Everything looked so good!
We decided not to order an appetizer and went straight for the meals. When we decide to go back again, I think we'll try either the cheese curds or the Mo's 4 cheese sauce and chips.
Some of the entree meal options that caught my eye:
*Jalapeno grilled cheese
*Mo's shepherd's pie
*Guinness BBQ chicken & shrimp boxty
THE FOOD:
They had so many great options to choose from and we decided to go with burgers. I know you're probably thinking..."A burger at an Irish pub for your first visit??" Hey, why not? Who doesn't enjoy a cold beer and a burger?!
We'll definitely try an Irish favorite the next time we go in!
Garett ordered the "Mo's Burger." This char-grilled Angus beef burger is layered with corned beef, Swiss cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato, onion and their signature Killarney sauce, served on a toasted bun. The burgers are usually served with fries, but Garett subbed them for a side salad.
I ordered their "Bacon Cheeseburger." This is their angus beef burger char-grilled topped with American cheese, Applewood smoked bacon, lettuce, tomato and red onion, served on a toasted bun. I of course stuck with the side of fries and they were delicious! (crispy with sea salt and pepper)
Another picture of the 'bacon cheeseburger.'
DRINKS:
If you're looking for a place with a great happy hour, or just a fun restaurant to grab some drinks + food, then Mo's is your place! Their happy hour includes 22 different draft beers for $2.25. (M-F 3pm-6pm)
I ordered the 'Breckenridge Vanilla Porter' and Garett ordered the 'Breckenridge Nitro Irish Stout.' I thought my beer was really good. A nice bold taste with a hint of sweet because of the vanilla. (It wasn't overly sweet) Garett's beer was definitely more stout and bitter in taste.
All in all - we thought they had great food, great beer, and a great atmosphere. We will definitely be back again to try some new dishes and drinks! Make sure you checkout their restaurant! There's always fun events going on through out the month as well.
Thanks for checking out this post today! Have a great weekend!
