I had the pleasure of attending the 10th annual ATX Blogger Mixer in Austin, TX last week. The event took place at the Domain at the Erin Condren store. These events usually consist of networking/mingling, food, drinks, and guest speakers.
A special thank you to my childhood friend, coworker, and fellow blogger Jesse Coulter for hosting the event! It's always great to network with other bloggers and to be inspired by the guest speakers to keep pushing forward with your passions. Another big thank you to the sponsors of the evening:
These cupcakes were from Sprinkles. If you haven't tried their cupcakes, then you're missing out! Their cupcakes are so good! Red velvet is by far my favorite.
The food was catered by MIA Italian Tapas, and it was delicious! They provided risotto balls, chicken sliders, caprese skewers, and pasta salad.
MIA even mentioned they have "Wine Wednesday's" which equals 1/2 price bottles of wine! "Ummm, excuse me?!" I think we all know where I'll be on Wednesday's. ;-)
Cocktails/drinks were sponsored by Austin Cocktails. I first discovered this tasty drink at my friend Kelly's Birthday party back in April. You just serve the cocktail over ice and it's ready to drink! At the mixer I only tried the 'Ruby Red' and the 'Cucumber Mojito.' They offer 5 different flavors and the other 3 flavors include: Orange Margarita, Tea Twister, and Paradise. The company will soon be launching a bourbon and gin.
Erin Condren was the perfect spot for the event! They had a private upstairs area that included a bar and tables. There was around 50 bloggers at the mixer. I love meeting different bloggers at these events, even if they're brand new to it all. I was in their shoes a few years ago and I know how intimidating it can be! Even after 2 years of blogging I'm 'still' learning through this journey and the best thing you can do for yourself is jump right in and learn along the way. If you've ever wanted to start a creative endeavor, I suggest you DO IT! Just jump right in and never look back! :-)
Rebekah Epstein with Fifteen Media was our guest speaker for the evening. She spoke about pitching your brand to PR agencies which is a great way to gain more exposure. I know most bloggers struggle with self doubt when it comes to pitching brands or even PR agencies so it was great to hear her perspective on it.
Jesse and I have been friends since elementary school. I'm so grateful to have her as a friend! She has always been so encouraging and supportive of my passion and dreams. Talk about a full circle... we were childhood friends, and now we're coworkers plus bloggers!
At the end of the evening everyone received a goody bag from Erin Condren. It was a cute custom hardbound notebook with "ATX Blogger Mixer" on the front!
I will definitely use this for future ideas and projects! Erin Condren offers so many other great planners and notebooks so if you enjoy being organized I would check out their items!
The next blogger mixer will take place late fall or early next year. If you're in the Austin area stay tuned!
Thank you everyone for stopping by today. Have a wonderful weekend!
